The Lombardy region is implementing various funding initiatives to support cultural, creative, and historical sectors. In the province of Varese, the cultural and creative production system saw a 33.1% growth in added value between 2021 and 2025, driven by regional programs like InnovaCultura. This program allocates funds to integrate artificial intelligence into museums and libraries to facilitate digital archives and personalized tours.

Broadening the scope of regional support, the ‘Imprese Storiche Verso il Futuro 2026’ program, a collaboration between Regione Lombardia and Unioncamere Lombardia, provides seven million euros to assist traditional businesses such as shops, restaurants, and pharmacies. This initiative aims to facilitate innovation, restoration, and generational transitions. In Varese, 41 historical businesses were awarded approximately 664,000 euros for building restoration, equipment upgrades, and service enhancements to ensure long-term continuity.
