Lonnie Walker IV, an American guard attempting an NBA comeback, joined basketball agent Miško Ražnatović’s management team while participating in training camp with the Denver Nuggets.

Shortly thereafter, the Denver Nuggets waived Walker. The move followed a limited preseason performance where he recorded minimal points and failed to log playing time in a recent game against the Chicago Bulls. Because Walker was on a non-guaranteed contract, the waiver does not result in dead money for the franchise. The decision was attributed to the emergence of depth within the Nuggets’ guard rotation.

Walker, 27, had previously spent two seasons in the EuroLeague playing for Žalgiris Kaunas and Maccabi Tel Aviv. Following his release from Denver, Walker has reached an agreement to return to the EuroLeague by joining the Istanbul-based club Beşiktaş. The transfer, facilitated by agent Miško Ražnatović, sees the former first-round pick join a roster led by Serbian coach Dušan Alimpijević to bolster the team's backcourt.

Walker is expected to provide a significant offensive boost to Beşiktaş, which currently holds a 2-3 record in the EuroLeague. His move follows a stint where he appeared in only three preseason games for the Nuggets after signing a two-way contract. He previously demonstrated high scoring capabilities in Europe during his tenure with Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he averaged 15.2 points per game.

Walker’s signing brings significant NBA experience to the Istanbul-based team, having previously played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, and Philadelphia 76ers. His arrival has raised questions regarding the status of David DeJulius, who is currently on a paid loan from UCAM Murcia. While Walker’s signing increases offensive competition on the perimeter, DeJulius remains contractually tied to the Spanish club, and Beşiktaş has not yet contacted UCAM Murcia to discuss DeJulius’s loan status or a potential permanent move.
