Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri initially reaffirmed his confidence in striker Lorenzo Lucca ahead of a match against Villarreal. Despite Lucca’s recent scoring struggles, Allegri identified him and Rasmus Hojlund as the club’s two primary center-forward options, noting that while other players offer versatility, they are viewed as emergency solutions.

However, reports later indicated that Napoli is considering a loan move for Lucca during the January transfer window. Following his 35 million euro signing, the player has struggled to secure consistent playing time. One potential scenario involves a loan exchange with Udinese for Keinan Davis, though Napoli may need to provide financial compensation to facilitate the deal due to differing market values.
