However, by August 2026, the airline faced significant financial pressure due to rising aviation fuel costs, which reportedly rose from a standard 25% to approximately 40% of total expenses. This increase is attributed to geopolitical instability and the crisis in the Middle East. As a result, LOT began adjusting its winter schedule by suspending several routes, including services to Skopje, Sarajevo, and Podgorica, to maintain liquidity. 

During this same period, Poznań-Ławica Airport reported growth in passenger traffic, handling over 2.3 million travelers between January and July 2026.
