The fifth edition of the L’Étape România by Tour de France cycling event took place in Bucharest on August 30. Leading up to the event, registration was nearing capacity with nearly 2,000 cyclists from 17 countries expected to participate. To ensure safety, significant traffic restrictions were implemented across several major Bucharest boulevards.

Upon the conclusion of the event, it was reported that over 2,000 amateur and professional cyclists from 22 different countries participated in three categories: The Ride (37 km), The Race (75 km), and City Adventure (14 km). Due to roadworks on Basarabia Boulevard, course distances were slightly adjusted. Following the competition, public transport in Bucharest returned to regular routes, though some modifications remained in effect due to ongoing construction in the Republica – Hala Laminor area.
