Lucas Digne has faced challenges securing a consistent role in Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain squad, having made only three Ligue 1 appearances following his €8 million transfer. His standing was previously affected by a disciplinary measure after a match against AS Monaco on September 4, where he was omitted from the squad due to a ‘perceived lack of involvement’.

Competition for playing time has intensified due to the performance of Lucas Hernandez. Hernandez has emerged as a primary alternative to Nuno Mendes during injury absences, notably delivering a standout performance in a 4-2 Champions League victory over Barcelona. During that match, Hernandez was named man of the match after scoring a header and effectively neutralizing Lamine Yamal through tactical play described as ‘vaciles’.
