The Lunigiana region in the province of Massa-Carrara is launching a tourism initiative titled ‘La Terra dei 100 Castelli’ (The Land of 100 Castles). Scheduled to take place from September 17 to 20, the event aims to integrate the area’s historical fortresses, towers, and manor houses into a structured tourism product for international markets.

Promoted by the Istituto Valorizzazione Castelli with support from the Camera di Commercio Toscana Nord Ovest, the project involves a collaboration between municipalities, private owners, and local associations. The program includes guided tours, cycling routes, tastings, outdoor experiences, and musical events, such as jazz concerts at the Castelli di Comano and Monti.

Emanuele Bertocchi, president of the Istituto Valorizzazione Castelli, stated that the initiative seeks to transform local heritage into an integrated system to attract international travelers and create long-term economic value through public and private cooperation.
