Law enforcement in Taiwan has taken significant action against organized crime rings specializing in counterfeit luxury watches. Initial reports indicated the dismantling of a group selling imitations of brands such as Rolex, Hublot, and Patek Philippe, with an estimated infringement value of NT$60 million. 

Subsequent investigations revealed a more sophisticated “sales, warehousing, and processing” operation. This network utilized a flagship store and workshop in Zhubei, Hsinchu County, supported by franchise locations in New Taipei City, Changhua County, and Kaohsiung City. The group reportedly sourced imitations from mainland China and used dedicated studios to perform high-precision modifications, including replacing dials, straps, and bezels to create realistic replicas. 

Following the seizure of 86 counterfeit watches from brands including Audemars Piguet and Richard Mille, authorities apprehended nine suspects. The estimated market value of the infringed intellectual property in this expanded investigation is expected to exceed NT$100 million. The case has been referred to the Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office for violations of the Trademark Act.
