The Lyon Open is returning to the ATP calendar as the inaugural Grand Prix Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, an ATP 250 tournament scheduled for October 18 to 25, 2026. The event marks a transition for Lyon tennis, moving from outdoor clay courts to an indoor hard-court format at the LDLC Arena.

Initially, American player Frances Tiafoe was announced as a headliner for the high-profile lineup, which includes Gaël Monfils, Stanislas Wawrinka, Lorenzo Musetti, and Matteo Berrettini. However, shortly before the tournament, Tiafoe withdrew from the competition citing a leg injury. This withdrawal impacts his pursuit of a position in the ATP Finals. Following his exit, Flavio Cobolli was expected to take the top seed position.

As the tournament prepares to debut on October 19, the official draw has been announced. The field includes top seeds Flavio Cobolli and Taylor Fritz, with Fritz scheduled to enter the competition in the second round. Other notable participants include Matteo Berrettini and Stanislas Wawrinka, who joins the lineup via a wild card.
