Mahra Al Nahyan, a 32-year-old member of the Abu Dhabi ruling family by marriage, was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court for child neglect following an incident in West London in June. The charge stemmed from an event where Al Nahyan was found unconscious on a street after cocaine use, leaving a three-year-old child in her care unattended and barefoot near moving traffic.

During the proceedings, it was noted that Al Nahyan had admitted to consuming cocaine several days prior to the incident and had initially reacted with hostility toward those who assisted or toward police officers.

Al Nahyan pleaded guilty to the charge. The court imposed a sentence consisting of a two-year community order with mandatory rehabilitation requirements, alongside fines and prosecution costs. Her legal defense indicated that she has since entered a rehabilitation clinic to address her addiction.
