Preparations for Malaysia’s 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations are proceeding under the theme “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”.

As of late August, preparations for the celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya are reported to be over 70% complete. Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil has highlighted several unique elements for the upcoming parade, including the debut of a 100-member contingent from the Johor Military Force (JMF). To enhance public interaction, military and police assets will be showcased via static displays at Dataran Floria and the New Millennium Monument.

A ‘Human Graphics’ performance featuring 1,500 students from 36 schools is also scheduled. To assist attendees, MRT services will operate 24 hours a day on August 30 and 31.

Inclusivity measures include invitations for persons with disabilities (OKU) to attend the main ceremony at Dataran Istana Kehakiman in Putrajaya on 31 August, as well as a separate gathering on 29 August. National month initiatives also feature a 10GB free internet data incentive distributed in two phases by the Ministry of Communications and various providers. Other support includes electricity rebates from Tenaga Nasional Berhad for commercial decorative lighting and compound discounts from local authorities.

Community-level patriotism is being fostered through various local efforts, such as the installation of 1,000 Jalur Gemilang flags by the Jasin Municipal Council and residential decorations in Felda Seberang Tayor, Terengganu.
