In October 2026, Malaysian authorities and industry leaders introduced programs aimed at empowering youth through technical and business training.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi announced the Young Engineers and Professionals (YEP) program to strengthen expertise among young engineers and new professionals in road engineering. This initiative, highlighted during the 13th Malaysia Road Conference and Exhibition, focuses on developing resilient infrastructure through technical and vocational education.

Concurrently, UEM Edgenta Berhad launched its inaugural Young Entrepreneurship Programme (YEP). This program aims to mentor young business owners within the company’s vendor ecosystem to meet operational and compliance standards. Partnering with Institut Keusahawanan Negara (INSKEN) and the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia, the initiative provides training in leadership and strategic planning to align with national goals for youth empowerment and digital innovation.
