Recent judicial proceedings in Malaysia have resulted in various prison sentences for criminal offenses.

In separate cases involving fatal incidents, a Deputy Superintendent was sentenced to seven years and six months in prison for causing the death of a student through reckless driving. In a different incident in Tawau, an Indonesian national received 30 months in prison and a fine for dangerous driving that led to a fatality.

In a separate matter, the Malaysian Court of Appeal sentenced a 59-year-old headmaster to 20 years in prison and 11 strokes of the cane for sexual offenses involving a minor.
