The Maldives is coordinating several initiatives to support the hosting of the World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia, Oceania & Indian Ocean 2026. 

Initially, the Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) partnered with the national airline, Maldivian, to serve as the official local airline partner for the ceremony. Subsequently, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) was named the official aviation partner through an agreement with VMC. This collaboration is intended to enhance coordination between the tourism and aviation sectors and provide promotional visibility at Velana International Airport to showcase the nation to a global audience.
