Sources: 30. Developments: 2. Former NBA player Malik Beasley is negotiating a plea agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice following a federal investigation into a sports betting and bribery scheme. While Beasley initially pleaded not guilty in July to charges including wire fraud conspiracy, bribery in sporting contests, and money laundering conspiracy, recent developments indicate he is expected to plead guilty. Prosecutors allege that during the 2023–24 NBA season while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, Beasley manipulated his on-court performance in at least four games to satisfy multimillion-dollar gambling debts. The indictment claims he worked with co-conspirators to under- or overperform specific statistical thresholds, such as scoring and rebounding, to benefit bettors placing prop wagers on games that were not televised nationally. The investigation has implicated several individuals, including former player Ed Davis, who allegedly acted as a gatekeeper by lending Beasley money, and sports agent Paolo Zamorano. Beasley is among several individuals caught up in a broader federal investigation that has resulted in more than three dozen arrests. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-26: Malik Beasley to plead guilty in NBA gambling and bribery case Former NBA player Malik Beasley will plead guilty to federal charges of sports bribery and wire fraud for allegedly manipulating his game statistics to assist gamblers during the 2023–24 season. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/malik-beasley-to-plead-guilty-in-nba-gambling-and-bribery-case ### 2026-10-24: Malik Beasley negotiating plea deal in federal betting scandal Former NBA player Malik Beasley is negotiating a plea deal with the DOJ regarding charges of manipulating his game performance to benefit sports bettors and settle gambling debts. 28 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/malik-beasley-enters-plea-negotiations-in-nba-gambling-scheme --- Cite as: Malik Beasley NBA gambling and bribery case.
