The number of Polish tourists visiting Malta has increased nearly tenfold, rising from approximately 40,000 to 50,000 annual visits to nearly 500,000 by 2026. This growth is attributed to promotional efforts initiated in November 2022.

To sustain this trend, Malta is diversifying its tourism offerings to include religious, family, active, and business travel, moving beyond traditional sun and sea tourism. The island is also looking to utilize artificial intelligence and new technologies to support sustainable development.

Recent data from the online travel agency eSky indicates that Malta has emerged as the top destination for Polish tourists regarding the 2027 winter holiday season. Bookings for Malta have seen a 146 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This trend is supported by increased accessibility through new low-cost direct flight connections. Family travel continues to be a major driver in the market, accounting for over 55 percent of international holiday reservations.
