Police in Manaus, Amazonas, are investigating the contract killing of a 28-year-old transgender woman named Paloma. Authorities state the murder was motivated by a dispute in the Jorge Teixeira neighborhood where the victim allegedly slapped a 16-year-old male after a physical altercation involving dropped narcotics.

Investigators report that the teenager hired 26-year-old Jackson Silva dos Santos for R$ 1,000 to carry out the crime. The suspects reportedly monitored the victim’s residence for two days before invading her home and fatally shooting her on September 27.
