Sources: 14. Developments: 5. Manchester United continues to manage squad transitions involving high-profile targets and internal player development. The club is reportedly preparing a significant move for Barcelona forward Raphinha. To attract the 29-year-old Brazilian, co-owners INEOS may offer a salary that would make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League, potentially surpassing Erling Haaland’s wages. United aims to secure him next summer when he has 12 months remaining on his contract. Simultaneously, defender Leny Yoro’s future remains uncertain. Now in his third season at Old Trafford, the 20-year-old has faced scrutiny following positional errors in a Carabao Cup exit against Brighton & Hove Albion. Reports indicate Yoro is dissatisfied with his limited playing time, having recorded only 22 minutes in the current Premier League season. Paris Saint-Germain is monitoring the situation and is reportedly considering an offer of approximately 50 million euros to bring the defender back to Ligue 1. Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona, and AC Milan also remain interested. While the club maintains Yoro is part of long-term plans, they are actively scouting defensive reinforcements such as Jarrad Branthwaite, Finn Jeltsch, Murillo, and Castello Lukeba. Former Watford striker Troy Deeney has criticized the club’s lack of experienced centre-backs to support Yoro’s development, noting the player has navigated injuries and multiple managerial changes. This sentiment was echoed by Emmanuel Petit, who highlighted the importance of experienced partners for a young defender's growth. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-24: Troy Deeney criticizes Manchester United's lack of experienced defenders for Leny Yoro Troy Deeney says Manchester United defender Leny Yoro lacks experienced senior players to learn from, hindering his development at the club following his £52 million move from Lille. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/troy-deeney-criticizes-manchester-uniteds-lack-of-experienced-defenders-for-leny-yoro ### 2026-10-11: Leny Yoro may leave Manchester United in January transfer window Manchester United may consider loaning or selling Leny Yoro in January if the French defender fails to secure a regular starting role under Michael Carrick. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/leny-yoro-may-leave-manchester-united-in-january-transfer-window ### 2026-10-06: Paris Saint-Germain monitoring Leny Yoro at Manchester United Paris Saint-Germain is monitoring Manchester United defender Leny Yoro, potentially considering a 50 million euro move following upcoming discussions between the player's representatives and the English club. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/paris-saint-germain-monitoring-leny-yoro-at-manchester-united ### 2026-10-02: Leny Yoro linked to Arsenal and PSG amid Manchester United concerns Manchester United defender Leny Yoro is reportedly considering a move due to limited playing time, drawing interest from Arsenal, PSG, Chelsea, and Barcelona. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/leny-yoro-linked-to-arsenal-and-psg-amid-manchester-united-concerns ### 2026-09-21: Manchester United targets Raphinha and develops Leny Yoro Manchester United is eyeing a major move for Barcelona's Raphinha with a record-breaking salary offer, while young defender Leny Yoro seeks more consistency in Michael Carrick's squad. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/manchester-united-targets-raphinha-and-develops-leny-yoro --- Cite as: Manchester United squad and transfer developments.
