Sources: 9. Developments: 2. Manchester United Women began their Women’s Super League campaign under new head coach Eva Olid with a difficult period, recording consecutive defeats against London City Lionesses and Chelsea. This followed a summer of squad restructuring and the departure of former manager Marc Skinner. Since that initial period, the team has seen an improvement in form, including a draw at the Emirates Stadium and a 10-1 victory over Sheffield United in the Players’ Cup. Head coach Olid has also reported positive fitness updates, noting that midfielder Celin Bizet is progressing faster than expected in her return to training, while Ellen Wangerheim is returning to the lineup. Forward Celin Bizet is now nearing a return to competitive play following her maternity leave. While the club’s performance department had originally planned a longer recovery timeline, her rapid reintegration into training suggests she may return to the pitch sooner than anticipated. Bizet has expressed enthusiasm regarding her return and praised Olid’s attacking tactical approach as the team prepares to face West Ham United. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-26: Celin Bizet nears return to Manchester United Women Manchester United Women forward Celin Bizet is nearing a return to action following maternity leave, progressing faster than medical staff originally projected. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/manchester-united-women-receive-fitness-boost-ahead-of-west-ham-clash ### 2026-09-17: Manchester United Women face difficult start under Eva Olid Manchester United Women have suffered two early Women's Super League defeats under new coach Eva Olid, including a 5-0 loss to Chelsea, as the squad undergoes a significant rebuilding phase. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/manchester-united-women-face-difficult-start-under-eva-olid --- Cite as: Manchester United Women coaching transition and performance.
