Promoter Eddie Hearn initially proposed several potential opponents for Manny Pacquiao to feature on the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua undercard in Cardiff, including Jack Catterall, Conah Walker, Lewis Crocker, and Joe Cordina. Trainer Robert Garcia identified Cordina as a “perfect” opponent for the 47-year-old, though noted the matchup would require Cordina to move up two weight classes to welterweight.

Negotiations have since progressed, with Cordina’s team reaching a formal agreement regarding financial terms and the purse. While the fight is not yet finalized, it awaits official ratification from Pacquiao’s camp. Additionally, legal hurdles for Cordina have been resolved following his clearance of previous assault charges.
