The Marbella City Council has engaged in several significant municipal service contracts involving increased public expenditure.

In early August, the council formalized a contract with Sulo Ibérica S.A. for the maintenance and cleaning of underground waste containers. This new agreement is valued at €4,657,277 over four years, a notable increase from the previous contract which was valued at approximately €1.85 million. The municipality attributed the rising costs to an expansion of the system to 634 units across various waste categories.

Following this, the council announced further tenders and awards, including a €3.4 million contract for the supply of flowers and plants across multiple zones, such as the urban center, Nueva Andalucía, and San Pedro Alcántara. Additionally, a €250,800 contract was awarded to MTE San Pedro S. L. for the maintenance of the seaside promenade’s sand through daily irrigation and regulation.
