Following his transfer from Chelsea to Real Madrid, Marc Cucurella has addressed his adaptation to the club. In an interview with Cadena SER, the defender noted the intense atmosphere at the Santiago Bernabéu and the rapid reaction of fans, including boos during matches. He also described a tactical shift where he attacks less frequently due to the rapid transitions of teammates like Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.

While facing scrutiny and criticism for his individual performances and Real Madrid’s defensive struggles, Cucurella received praise from Spain national team coach Luis de la Fuente. Following a 4-1 victory over Croatia, De la Fuente described the defender as ‘amazing’, noting that some players perform at a higher level for the national team due to the comfort of its specific playing style. Former goalkeeper Santiago Cañizares observed that Cucurella showed more involvement in his minutes against Croatia than in his recent matches for Real Madrid.
