During the Japanese Grand Prix at the Motegi Circuit, Aprilia Racing rider Marco Bezzecchi faced both technical and competitive challenges. During the first free practice session, Bezzecchi narrowly avoided a highside crash on a wet Turn 11, finishing the session in fourth place.

Amidst these track conditions, Bezzecchi acknowledged that his prospects for the 2026 MotoGP title are diminishing. Despite a strong start to the season with four victories in the first eight races, he has failed to finish five of his last eight races. He currently trails championship leaders Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez, noting that Aprilia has historically struggled to achieve podiums at the Motegi circuit.
