Slovak hockey legend Marián Hossa has returned to on-ice training in Trenčín after a three-year hiatus. The 42-year-old former Chicago Blackhawks forward had previously paused his career in 2017 due to a severe allergy to his equipment, a condition he described as requiring medication comparable to “chemotherapy”. 

Hossa has resumed training with HK Dukla Trenčín to prepare for an upcoming farewell match for fellow Slovak player Zdeno Chára, which is scheduled for 21 August.
