Development of a Nova feature film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has progressed from conceptual discussions to confirmed scriptwriting. Screenwriter Michael Waldron indicated that the project, which has transitioned from a potential Disney+ series to a film, will likely focus on the character Richard Rider. Waldron noted the complexity of adapting the character’s history and mentioned the potential use of the ‘Annihilation’ saga as a narrative foundation.

Following these developments, actor John C. Reilly expressed interest in reprising his role as Rhomann Dey, a member of the Nova Corps previously seen in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. While Reilly has not yet been contacted by Marvel, the studio has confirmed that the film is in development with Waldron writing the script, aiming to further explore the Nova Corps.
