The 12th International Music Festival in Marvão, Portugal, concluded after attracting more than 10,000 attendees. Launched in late July 2026, the festival utilized diverse local venues, including the Igreja de Santiago, the Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Estrela, a subterranean water reservoir, and the 1st-century Roman ruins of Ammaia. Notable performances included the Hong Kong Sinfonietta under Maestro Christoph Poppen, featuring artists such as Cy Leo and Daniel Chu, as well as a premiere of a concerto by Chinese composer Alice Yeung at the Ammaia ruins.

Coinciding with the festival, the medieval Torre da Portagem was reopened to the public on 30 July 2026 following a renovation and musealisation project. Funded by the INTERREG VI-A Spain-Portugal programme and led by the Diputación de Cáceres under the “Kaminos” initiative, the site allows visitors to explore the Sephardic heritage of the Iberian Peninsula. 

Following the 12th anniversary, founder Christoph Poppen is reportedly considering the construction of a year-round auditorium to expand the festival beyond its July schedule. Architect Manuel Aires Mateus is involved in preliminary designs for a structure intended to use local stone to complement the historic walls of the medieval village.
