In fiscal year 2026, Maryland’s gaming industry, including casinos, the state lottery, and sports wagering, generated a record $1.637 billion for state programs. This total represented a $48 million increase over the previous year. 

Casino gaming was the primary contributor with $822.2 million, followed by $681.6 million in lottery profits and $133.3 million from sports betting and fantasy sports. A significant portion of these funds, totaling $699.8 million, was earmarked for education programs. Other allocations supported public transit, the Maryland Veterans Trust Fund, and the Camden Yards Sports Complex.

As fiscal year 2027 commenced in July 2026, initial data showed a 4.7% decrease in revenue from slot machines and table games at the state’s six casinos compared to July 2025. During that month, casino contributions to the state totaled approximately $68.2 million, with $49.9 million directed to the Education Trust Fund.
