Mattel has announced and released a new Barbie Signature collector doll to commemorate the centennial of Marilyn Monroe’s birth. Developed in collaboration with The Estate of Marilyn Monroe LLC, the doll is inspired by Monroe’s performance of ‘Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’ from the 1953 film ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’. 

The collector’s item features a pink satin dress with a large bow, long opera gloves, pink shoes, and diamond-inspired jewelry. The release includes a certificate of authenticity and a display stand. This tribute follows previous Mattel collections inspired by Monroe released between 1997 and 2009.
