In late July 2026, R+V Insurance’s health‑safety Infocenter warned that high temperatures can degrade medicines, especially fat‑rich suppositories, creams, salves and inhalers. A week later, pharmacist Stephanie Tiede of the German Federal Pharmacists Chamber reinforced the temperature limit of 25 °C and stressed storing medicines in dry, cool places such as a bedroom drawer rather than kitchens or bathrooms. She recommended a travel kit with essential items and, if medication must be left in a car, placing it in the trunk with cooling packs. Any change in a drug’s appearance, taste or smell should prompt a medical consultation.
