# Meiji Milk Chocolate centenary celebrations

Meiji has initiated a series of celebrations marking the 99th and 100th anniversaries of Meiji Milk Chocolate. The campaign began with the ‘Melody of meiji’ project, a relay of 12 artists performing the ‘Meiji Chocolate Theme’. The final installment featured singer Sachiko Kobayashi, who performed in a costume designed to reflect the product’s packaging.

As the brand approaches its centenary on September 13, Meiji is launching commemorative products. These include special packaging and a limited-edition reproduction of the original 1926 recipe, utilizing cacao beans from Trinidad and Tobago and Sao Tome and Principe. 

Further anniversary initiatives include the introduction of ‘Meiji Chocolate Hug Milk’, a reduced-sugar product for children enriched with nutrients, and cross-industry collaborations with Pronto Corporation to offer chocolate-based desserts at nationwide locations.
