Following his death in Madrid nearly ten months prior, the remains of Argentine actor Héctor Alterio were returned to Buenos Aires for interment.

His children, Malena and Ernesto Alterio, coordinated the transfer to ensure he could rest in his birthplace. A memorial ceremony was organized by the Asociación Argentina de Actores y Actrices at the Chacarita Cemetery.

During the service, family, colleagues, and officials gathered to honor his legacy. The ceremony included musical tributes and reflections on his artistic impact and his ability to maintain a deep connection to his national identity despite his exile from Argentina in 1975.
