Workers of the Metrô-DF in the Distrito Federal, represented by the SindMetrô-DF union, initially approved an indefinite strike scheduled to begin on September 1, 2026. The labor action was prompted by failed negotiations regarding a personnel deficit of approximately 600 employees, the fulfillment of collective bargaining agreements, and the demand for a new public civil service exam.

Following a request from the Regional Labor Court of the 10th Region (TRT-10), workers voted to postpone the strike for 15 days. The union noted that the administrative process for the required public examination has been under the responsibility of the State Secretariat of Economy since 2024.

A follow-up assembly is scheduled for September 15 to evaluate progress. If no favorable updates regarding the public examination or collective bargaining agreements are provided by September 16, workers will reconvene to decide on further industrial action.
