Metz Handball has maintained an undefeated streak in both domestic and Champions League play during the early stages of the Ligue Féminine season.

Following a Champions League victory against Storhamar, the league leaders prepared for a championship match against Nice. OGC Nice captain Marine Dupuis indicated a desire to “correct past errors” while facing the leaders.

As the season progressed, Metz focused on a high-stakes rivalry match against Brest Bretagne Handball. Coach Emmanuel Mayonnade noted the difficulty of managing player cohesion and energy levels following international breaks and coordinating rest with international coaches.
