The Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRICULTURA) launched an effort to update beneficiary files for the ‘Producción para el Bienestar’ program, requiring georeferenced data to ensure the continuity of direct support and promote food sovereignty. To assist with these processes, the ‘Línea Agricultura’ contact center was activated to provide 24/7 guidance on various social programs. Simultaneously, regional agencies in Hidalgo and Jalisco have distributed financial and material aid. In Hidalgo, over 3.5 million pesos were allocated to hundreds of producers for items such as seeds, livestock, and family garden packages. In Jalisco, support was provided to farmers in Poncitlán to mitigate losses caused by heavy hailstorms, with further aid planned through the Jalisco Fund for Agro-food Contingencies. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-20: Mexican agricultural authorities distribute aid to rural producers Agricultural agencies in Hidalgo and Jalisco, Mexico, are providing financial and material aid to hundreds of farmers to support rural production and recover from weather-related crop damage. 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/mexican-agricultural-authorities-distribute-aid-to-rural-producers ### 2026-10-15: Mexico's AGRICULTURA updates rural welfare program files Mexico's AGRICULTURA is updating files for the ‘Producción para el Bienestar’ program and has launched a 24/7 helpline (079) to assist rural producers with social programs and technical inquiries. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/mexicos-agricultura-updates-rural-welfare-program-files --- Cite as: Mexican agricultural support and rural development.
