Mexico continues to maintain a strong presence in the international tourism and cultural sectors. Initial reports highlight the country’s diverse attractions, ranging from coastal regions to ancient pyramids, and emphasize the social importance of the town plaza, or ‘zócalo’, as a central hub for community interaction.

This cultural engagement has expanded into large-scale events and international exhibitions. The 37th International Book Fair of Anthropology and History (FILAH) in Mexico City recently drew 190,000 attendees over an 11-day period. Additionally, the second edition of the Puebla International Book Fair (FILIP) 2026 concluded with over 160,000 visitors. Supported by the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture of Puebla (IMACP), the 10-day event featured 130 national and international publishers and resulted in the sale of more than 152,000 copies, generating 7 million pesos in revenue.

This economic impact extended to the local economy, providing over 2 million pesos in gains for businesses in Puebla’s Historic Center. During the closing ceremonies at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP), the digital book ‘Crónica de la China Poblana’ was presented as part of the ‘Lecturas del Centenario’ collection. 

On the global stage, the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) reported that six exhibitions regarding Mexico’s indigenous peoples have reached 3.8 million people across Spain, France, and China.
