Mexican university basketball teams have commenced preseason preparations for the 2026-2027 Liga ABE season through competitive tournaments and exhibition matches.

In Teziutlán, Puebla, the Las Gallas of the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA) participated in the Copa ABE. Following their debut against Jaguares de UAMP, the team recorded three losses in the tournament, falling to Jaguares de UAMP (49-72), Águilas de la UAG (45-76), and Anáhuac de Xalapa (51-60).

Simultaneously, in San Andrés Cholula, Halcones Inter hosted BUAP at the “Nido Naranja” gymnasium. The Halcones Inter women's team won 69-34, featuring the return of Majo Vega, while the men's team defeated Lobos de la BUAP 94-47. The men's roster featured new additions and the return of Panamanian player D’Andre Green.
