Mexican universities continue to balance institutional commemorations with expanded mental health and community welfare initiatives.

In early October, the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) celebrated the 53rd anniversary of the SUTUAT union and the 69th anniversary of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics through a 10-kilometer commemorative ride and a grill tournament. In Morelos, Governor Margarita González Saravia attended the 50th anniversary of the SITAUAEM union at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM), where discussions focused on student support and university security plans.

Mental health programming has intensified across several institutions. The Universidad Latina de América (UNLA) held a ‘Mental Health Week’ featuring workshops on digital well-being and emotional regulation. At the CULagos San Juan campus, ninth-semester psychology students established a free clinical support space using a Gesell Chamber, operating under the motto ‘Your wellbeing is also part of your training’ to assist those facing academic stress or adjustment difficulties.

The Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) has strengthened its Psychological Orientation Program (POP), with Rector Martha Patricia Zarza Delgado emphasizing empathy and solidarity through prevention and follow-up strategies for the university community.

Newer initiatives have expanded into staff training, mindfulness, and community outreach. The Universidad Pedagógica Nacional del Estado de Chihuahua (UPNECH) implemented a mindfulness course for staff to manage workplace stress, while the Universidad Politécnica de Ramos Arizpe (UPRA) held training to help faculty address students' socio-emotional needs. Additionally, the Universidad Anáhuac Puebla launched an intervention project at the Ciudad Serdán Women's Penitentiary, providing emotional well-being resources to female inmates. At UAT, the fourth generation of the University Psychological First Aid Brigade was activated to provide immediate emotional containment within the campus community.
