Guadalajara, Mexico, has been selected to host the 2027 World Para Swimming Championships, scheduled to take place from July 25 to August 1 at the CODE Metropolitano Aquatic Center. This event marks the first time the championships have returned to Mexico in ten years.

The competition is expected to involve more than 600 athletes representing over 70 countries, competing across 175 medal events. Officials noted that the venue’s experience hosting the Para Swimming World Series since 2023 contributed to its selection. The championships serve as a significant milestone leading up to the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games, with the location providing athletes the opportunity to compete in a similar time zone to the upcoming Paralympics.
