The Mexican government is expanding and coordinating various social welfare initiatives under the administration of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

In late August 2026, Leche para el Bienestar and the National Institute for Federalism and Municipal Development (INAFED) signed an agreement to extend the Social Supply Program to all 2,478 municipalities in Mexico through September 2030 to increase access to nutritious dairy and basic food items.

As of September 2026, the government has transitioned into new registration and payment phases. New registration periods are open for the Benito Juárez Scholarship for public high school students through September 30, and the Universal Rita Cetina Scholarship for students from kindergarten through secondary school. The ‘Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro’ program is also distributing Bienestar cards to new apprentices who began training in September, providing monthly economic support and medical insurance.

Regarding disbursements, the September-October 2026 payment cycle for the Pension for Older Adults, the Women's Bienestar Pension, and the Pension for People with Disabilities continues via a staggered schedule based on the first letter of beneficiaries' surnames. For instance, beneficiaries with last names starting with ‘L’ are scheduled to receive payments on September 11.

In a separate regional initiative, the Secretaría de Desarrollo Humano y Bien Común (SDHyBC) allocated 632,000 pesos to provide economic stimuli to 79 caregivers of children whose parents are incarcerated, benefiting 162 minors.

Additionally, authorities have addressed misinformation regarding electricity discounts. The National Institute for Older Persons (INAPAM) and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) clarified that the INAPAM card does not grant a 50% discount on electricity bills, warning citizens against fraudulent social media advertisements requesting personal data.
