He noted that a cycle of AI-generated, AI-read, and AI-summarized documents risks diluting information value and failing to provide new insights.

This phenomenon is linked to “model collapse,” a technical issue where AI models trained on AI-generated data experience declining quality and reduced diversity. Roslansky emphasized that relying on AI without human experience leads to uniform, characterless text. 

In response, LinkedIn has introduced features for users to report content that “seems like AI slop.” Additionally, Microsoft executive Jay Parik has reportedly instructed staff to avoid “token masking”—the practice of using excessive AI tokens to appear productive—and instead focus on meaningful outcomes and unique human perspectives.
