Greek long jumper Miltos Tentoglou has been named as one of three finalists for the 2026 European Athletics Male Athlete of the Year award. He joins Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis and Italian athlete Gianmarco Tamberi in the final selection process.

Tentoglou’s nomination follows a season in which he secured the Ultimate Championship, topped global rankings with a Greek national record of 8.66 meters, and earned a gold medal at the European Championships in Birmingham. His career achievements include two Olympic gold medals from Tokyo and Paris, as well as three world titles.

The winner will be announced on October 24 during the Golden Tracks ceremony in Lausanne. The final decision is determined by four weighted voting groups: the public, national federations, media representatives, and the European Athletics expert committee.

In a separate informal event, Tentoglou previously participated in the ‘Garden Jumps Gala’ in Pallini, Greece, where he recorded an unofficial ‘garden record’ jump of 6.29 meters.
