In September 2026, the company introduced the N5 Air-7640, a revised NAS system utilizing an AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS processor. This model focuses on high capacity, featuring five SATA bays and three M.2 NVMe slots for a maximum storage capacity of 174 TB. It includes high-speed connectivity such as 10-Gbps and 5-Gbps network ports. The N5 Air-7640 supports up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and is compatible with Windows 11 Pro, Linux, and the proprietary MinisCloud operating system. Following this, Minisforum announced the S5, a fanless, all-flash NAS system. Unlike the N5 Air-7640, the S5 is designed for silent operation and high-speed performance using an Intel Core 3 304 processor and five M.2 NVMe SSDs, supporting up to 40 TB of storage. The S5 also incorporates an “edge-cloud collaborative AI architecture” to support local intelligence and decision-making, featuring an NPU rated at 15 TOPS for local AI applications. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-20: Ninkear and Minisforum announce new compact computing and storage hardware Ninkear launches the L20 Mini PC with Intel Core Ultra 5, while Minisforum introduces the S5, a fanless NVMe-based NAS system. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ninkear-and-minisforum-announce-new-compact-computing-and-storage-hardware ### 2026-10-16: MINISFORUM announces S5 all-flash fanless NAS MINISFORUM unveiled the S5, a fanless 5-bay all-flash NAS featuring Intel Core 3 304 processing, up to 40 TB of NVMe SSD storage, and edge-cloud collaborative AI architecture. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/minisforum-announces-s5-all-flash-fanless-nas ### 2026-09-21: Minisforum launches N5 Air-7640 NAS with AMD Ryzen 5 Minisforum has launched the N5 Air-7640 NAS, featuring an AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS processor, up to 174 TB of storage capacity, and high-speed 10-Gbps networking. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/minisforum-launches-n5-air-7640-nas-with-amd-ryzen-5 --- Cite as: Minisforum NAS hardware product launches.
