A Canadian-registered Gulfstream G100 air ambulance, operated by Latitude Air Ambulance, disappeared while performing a medical evacuation flight from Bermuda to Boston. The aircraft was carrying six people, including two pilots, two medical staff, a patient, and a family member. Occupants included four Canadian citizens and two Bermudian citizens. Initial reports indicated the aircraft experienced a rapid descent from 24,000 feet to 11,000 feet after the pilot declared an emergency due to electrical issues during a storm. The US Coast Guard subsequently discovered a debris field off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts. After approximately 66 hours and a search covering 4,445 miles, the US Coast Guard suspended active search operations on October 4, 2026. While debris was located, officials noted that finding the aircraft’s black box remains a significant challenge due to the spread of the debris. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-05: US Coast Guard suspends search for medical aircraft crew and passengers The US Coast Guard has suspended a 66-hour search for six people aboard a medical aircraft that crashed off the coast of Nantucket while traveling from Bermuda to Boston. 8 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/us-coast-guard-suspends-search-for-medical-aircraft-crew-and-passengers ### 2026-10-03: Nantucket debris found from missing Canadian air ambulance The US Coast Guard has found debris off Nantucket from a missing Canadian air ambulance.
