In early September, two German children, aged 7 and 14, were reported missing in the s’Albufera Natural Park after their father became disoriented while seeking assistance for a flat tire during a bicycle tour. Other reports indicate separate disappearances of elderly German nationals. Reiner Schnell, a 77-year-old retiree, has been missing from the Llucmajor municipality since September 11, 2026. Additionally, 72-year-old Hans Peter Harke has been missing since July 31, 2026, after leaving his family estate in Campos for a bicycle ride without identification, money, or supplies.
