Police in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen have concluded the search for Hanna Speicher, a 21-year-old German national who had been missing since September 16. Speicher was last seen hiking in the Pizol region after reaching the summit of Garmil.

On September 21, authorities reported that Speicher was found dead in steep terrain near Vilters-Wangs. Investigators believe she fell in the alpine terrain and noted that “no evidence of third-party involvement was found.” The search operation included the St. Gallen Cantonal Police, Alpine Rescue East Switzerland, and Rega.
