Search operations have been conducted in various Greek regions to locate missing individuals. In the Gortynia region, authorities, including the Police, Fire Service, and EMAK, have utilized drones and search dogs to locate Alexios Koutros, a 50-year-old municipal worker who disappeared in the Karkalos area. A temporary hunting ban was implemented in the mountainous Mainalo region to facilitate these efforts.

In a separate incident near the Arta Waterfall, a 76-year-old man who had been missing since October 19 was located alive. The Fire Service’s ‘IKAROS’ special team used a drone equipped with a thermal camera to find the man in a remote and steep area of the Tzoumerka mountains. The man, who was found in a state of exhaustion, reportedly signaled his presence by waving his hands when he heard the drone overhead. The rescue involved a coordinated effort between the Greek Police, local fire departments, the 5th EMODE team, and a rescue dog from the 5th EMAK. Following his discovery, the man was transported via ambulance to a hospital for medical care.
