In the Dominican Republic, search operations were initiated for Samuel Heredia Solano, who disappeared from Haina; reports suggested he may have been attempting an illegal maritime journey toward Puerto Rico following a vessel capsize in the Mona Passage. Later, criminal investigations were launched following the death of 13-year-old Yosnely Álvarez, who was allegedly sexually assaulted and stabbed before being thrown into the Yaque del Norte River. A suspect, Edwin Reynaldo Rodríguez Cruz, was placed under 12 months of preventive detention by a judge in Santiago.
