In Renca, Chile, authorities and family members launched an intensive search for two 12-year-old students, Marianela Díaz and Antonella González, after they disappeared on August 20. The sixth-grade students went missing after leaving Colegio Jorge Alessandri Rodríguez.

Carabineros have focused search efforts on Cerro Colorado and Cerro Renca. Investigators are analyzing leads including cell phone signals that placed one student in the La Condes area, and reports that the girls may have intended to visit a forest in Las Condes or Quilicura. 

Witnesses reported seeing the students boarding a RED bus, and video footage is being reviewed to identify a white or gray Toyota vehicle in which the girls appeared to enter.
