In August 2026, Missouri held several Republican and Democratic primary elections. For Senate District 6, an open seat, six Republican candidates competed for the nomination, including Amber Buckles, Todd “Ike” Skelton, Derrick Spicer, Lisa Thomas, Rudy Veit, and Jake Vogel.

In other regional races, incumbent U.S. Rep. Jason Smith won the 8th District Republican primary with approximately 86% of the vote, and State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick secured roughly 85.5% in his contest. 

Results for the 6th Congressional District primary showed Chris Stigall winning the Republican nomination with 44.106% of the vote, defeating Nathan Hall Willett and Jim Ingram. In the Democratic primary for the same district, Josh Smead secured 47.694% of the vote, followed by Matt Levine and Scot Pondelick. The Libertarian candidate, Andy Maidment, received 100% of the Libertarian vote.
