MŠK Žilina sports director Karol Belaník confirmed the transfer of 18-year-old defender Tobiáš Pališčák from Žilina to the Czech club Viktorie Plzeň. The deal includes a fixed fee, performance bonuses, and a percentage of any future sale.

Following the move, Belaník addressed criticisms regarding the lack of domestic transfers within the Slovak league. He defended the club’s strategy of selling players to foreign markets rather than to domestic rivals like Slovan Bratislava, citing economic necessity. Belaník noted that Žilina prioritizes offers that are advantageous for both the club and the player, using the Pališčák transfer as an example of a player moving abroad because domestic clubs could not match the financial conditions offered by Czech competition.
